Touching the heart and soul of a person is a valuable experience by all those involved. Creating that experience for them by psychologically supportive design has always been my passion. Unsupportive design has effects that work against the process of healing. There is scientific research that shows how certain design choices or strategies can foster or hinder wellness. My extensive architectural design background has allowed me to create a bridge between the study of positive and negative (solid and void) space while working this alongside the natural flow of nature. Organic Architecture marries this concept creating balance and harmony which is based on Sacred Geometry. I apply this concept of balance and harmony or psychologically supportive design, to the needs of my clients. Using basic laws and elements of design: Structure and Form, Function and Lifestyle, Color and its’ psychological effects, I compassionately use these tools and my skill and work towards fulfilling my client’s needs.

My goal is to create a stylistic “experience” in a non-toxic, balanced, uplifting holistic environment with the client’s most ultimate and best interest at hand. With the cosmetology profession being part of my family history, from my grandfather in Sicily, Italy, being a Master Barber to many of my cousins choosing the artistic hair profession. Being part of this hair legacy, I developed a passion for it as an expression of my own creativity. I believe a person’s hair is an extension of their soul. This is a great responsibility I choose to hold to ensure I can serve and influence an individual in a positive way.

When we began Gilden Tree in 1990, we made a commitment to do things the right way, for the environment and for the people who make, sell and buy our products.

Our first product in 1990 was the Footscrubber®, a terra-cotta tool that works like a pumice stone to remove dry skin and calluses from feet. But unlike pumice, our terra-cotta Footscrubber never wears out. This traditional tool is common in the Indian sub-continent, but was virtually unknown in the United States at the time.

Footscrubbers are made in Pakistan by a group of women, who’d never had the opportunity to work outside the home. Within a couple of years, it became clear to us that the Footscrubber had struck a chord here in the US, and we wanted to give something back to thank these women for their amazing work. In 1993, we began to pay for the education of their children, and later for the women themselves.

Ten year later, in 2003, with the encouragement of friends, we began to talk about our efforts, and the response has been pretty extraordinary. Tips for Preventing Acne at Any Age

From sweet 16 to fabulous 40 and beyond, acne is a condition that affects almost everyone at some time in their lives.

It’s important to remember that acne has both internal and external causes,However, there are some basic precautions you can take to help prevent breakouts.”

•Don’t pick, pop or squeeze, or otherwise mess with your skin. Squeezing blemishes or whiteheads can lead to infection or scarring. It almost always makes the acne you have worse.

•Wash your pillowcase often and always use clean face towels. Dirty towels and pillowcases can harbor bacteria and germs that can make acne worse.

•Be sure to pull your hair away from your skin when you sleep.

•Try to shower as soon as possible after your workout since sweat combined with skin oils can trap dirt and bacteria in your pores.

•Don’t go to bed with makeup on. It can clog your pores and lead to breakouts.

•Make sure to clean cosmetic brushes regularly in soapy water and throw out old, contaminated makeup.

•Use topical treatments,anywhere that you tend to get breakouts -- don't just spot-treat existing pimples. The pore-clogging process happens two to three weeks before any blemish becomes visible on the skin.

Because acne is caused by a combination of factors, including internal triggers that can cause imbalances inside the body, and an overproduction of oil and trapped bacteria on the outside, the most effective way to treat it is by addressing both areas
